Collette Cameron manages to draw me into the story of every one of her books I have read. In this one, we have a long unresolved kidnapping, a feisty beautiful tinker heroine, an English lord, some really nasty characters, one who is totally reprehensible. The main characters are a perfect match although it takes a while to convince this lady they are meant to be together. Mix in some action, some skullduggery, lively banter, and of course some wonderful secondary characters. Add in a good dose of wit and humor. Voila! Another engaging read by Ms. Cameron. Please note: I had purchased, read, and reviewed the original version. I have voluntarily reviewed the ARC of this edition. All opinions stated are my own.

Heartbreak and Honor is book 3 in the Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series by Collette Cameron. I own both the print copy and the Audible version. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. Hilariously funny with numerous laugh out loud moments, I especially enjoyed the hero - the dashing Lucan Ashford, the Duke of Harcourt. “Her traitorous heart gave an excited tremor. So different from the shaggy-haired, broad-faced men of her clan. Sharp hewn features, high cheekbones, a square jaw, and surprisingly black-lashed eyes and dark eyebrows bespoke his aristocratic heritage, no doubt many generations old. His sculpted mouth spread into a knowing smile, revealing square teeth and a charming dimple in his right cheek. She wanted to touch the indentation. Verra attractive and verra dangerous, indeed.” Usually, when I listen to a romance, I like to hear a woman’s voice. But I felt that David Monteath did a fabulous job of bringing this book to life. Towards the end of the book, there are a couple of steamy scenes. I highly recommend this story, whether in print or on Audible.
