关于此电子书

Cluster Beam Deposition of Functional Nanomaterials and Devices, Volume 15, provides up-to-date information on the CBD of novel nanomaterials and devices. The book offers an overview of gas phase synthesis in a range of nanoparticles, along with discussions on the development of several devices and applications. Applications include, but are not limited to catalysis, smart nanocomposites, nanoprobes, electronic devices, gas sensors and biosensors. This is an important reference source for materials scientists and engineers who want to learn more about this sustainable, innovative manufacturing technology. - Explores the use of CBD for the fabrication of functionalized nanomaterials and devices - Shows how CBD is used for both sensing and biomedical applications - Discusses how this emerging technology is being commercialized for use on a large-scale

作者简介

Paolo Milani is Full Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Milano. He graduated in Physics from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 1984 and he received his Docteures Sciences (PhD) in 1991 from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale of Lausanne. He founded in1992 the Molecular Beams and Nanocrystalline Materials Laboratory at the University of Milano. His research focuses on cluster-assembled nanostructured materials for neuromorphicsystems, stretchable electronics, biomedicine, soft robotics. He has published more than 250papers on refereed journals, several review papers and a monograph on supersonic cluster beamdeposition for the synthesis of nanostructured thin films.Milani is the recipient of the U. Campisano Award from the Italian Institute for thePhysics of Matter in 2000 for his contributions to the field of the synthesis and characterization ofnanostructured materials. In 2006 he received the L. Tartufari Prize awarded by the LinceiNational Academy.Currently, Milani serves as Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for NanostructuredMaterials and Interfaces of the University of Milano. He is co-editor of the Springer book series Carbon Materials Chemistry and Physics, regional editor for Europe of the Journal of Nanoparticle Research, member of the editorialboards of Advances in Physics X, KONA Powder and Particle Journal, and Journal of AerosolScience. He holds twenty patents in the field of nanotechnology and he is co-founder of four companies:TETHIS spa active in the field of nanostructured devices for cancer diagnostics, WISE srl producingimplantable electrodes for neuromodulation, EOS srl producing optical diagnostic systems fornanoparticles in complex biological fluids, MANIFATTURA MACCHINE SOFFICI srl producingbio-based materials for interior design and acoustic wallcoverings.

Mukhles Sowwan is the director of the nanoparticles by design unit at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST)-Japan and a visiting professor at SLAC national laboratory-CA-USA.
