This is a good protector romance but Adams' word choices are a bit puzzling. They feel like she just chose a synonym at random from a thesaurus without consideration for its nuance. All synonyms are NOT created equal. There is a reason English has so many different words with the same general meaning and it is nuance. While I applaud her desire to expand her vocabulary, I do suggest she spend some time with a good editor who can help her distinguish the shadings of meaning. Study the second and third meanings from the dictionary. That's where you find nuance. But keep writing. You've a good deal of talent. Don't let it get lost

I tried but couldn't finish it. The female lead has a degree in psychology but obviously didn't earn it...if she even thought about using it she wouldn't have had so many problems.
