About this ebook

When her dream unravels, he’ll give what’s left of his powers to keep it together.

After God hung the “closed” sign on Hell’s gates, ex-demon Belial got a new name and a new job description — Bill Lisle, high-end SoCal contractor. Thanks to a beachfront home thrown into the bargain, he can’t lie. Topside life definitely doesn’t suck.

With a challenging reno in his rearview mirror, Bill’s looking forward to kicking back with a beer and some holiday bowl games. But an emergency call to pick up another contractor’s dropped project — and his new, drop-dead gorgeous client — has Bill suspecting God’s pulling a few chalk strings. After all, the old man’s been dropping hints it’s time to settle down.

Callie Donaldson’s fill-in contractor is the answer to her prayers, but did he have to be this hot? With a fashion design company to run and her eleven-year-old daughter to raise, dating isn’t even on her radar. Instead, getting her house ready for the party to launch her new line in time for Christmas is her number-one priority.

But when it comes to timing, God has it all figured out. Even when it appears the only presents waiting under Callie’s tree are broken dreams, a broken career...and maybe a broken heart.

Note: Wish Upon a Star is the final, standalone book in “The Devil You Know” series. Contains a devilishly handsome ex-demon contractor, a designer with a dream, a meddling daughter, and a touch of holiday magic.

It’s worth reading the previous three because they are quite enjoyable (if you think or hope the fiends of Hell can be reformed). The slow-burn romance gets progressively warmer as Callie and Belial get to know each other. It all works out for a happily ever after ending

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I was somewhat apprehensive about how Christine Pope was going to pull off having demons from hell reintegrate into modern society. Well she did a stellar job. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more in the series. Pope does for California, what she has done in past books for Arizona…drawing the reader into the setting and casting the area in a very positive light. The rapport between Belial, Callie & Olivia was great!

Excellent romantic fantasy. God chooses to close Hell in favour of using reincarnation to rehabilitate lost souls instead of eternal punishment. Unfortunately, there appears to be quite a few unemployed demons. Well, God has a solution for this problem by giving them human bodies (rather good looking!). God also likes to interfere in their romantic lives. I really recommend this book. It's an easy read and quite entertaining.
