We meet Anthony, a young boy whose baby brother is about to be baptized. Anthony eagerly invites the reader into his church and explains the importance of this once-in-a-lifetime sacrament. He leads readers through the baptismal ceremony step-by-step, describing the events through his own eyes. Throughout the book are interactive questions encouraging discussion between the child and parent or teacher: "Do you know why you have the name you do?"; "Do you know the name of your godparents?" When the time finally comes to baptize little James, Anthony proudly joins in the responses with the rest of the group.
