Coming back to Hanley Cove turned out to be a bad idea for MacKenzie “Mac” Finn.
First she found out her late Uncle Morley dumped his entire estate on her–his small house, his classic Ford Bronco, and his weekly newspaper business.
Then she found out Uncle Morley had been murdered. By something from the Unseen Realms.
After that…things got weird.
Now she’s on the run with her best friend from the old days in Hanley Cove, Kessie, and a…six-tailed rat demon?
She doesn’t know who to trust. Old friends and new allies aren’t who they seem to be. Neither was Uncle Morley. Turns out, Mac didn’t know him at all. He left clues for her to unravel the mystery of his murder, though. Clues that point to something far more sinister coming not just for her, not just Hanley Cove, but for the Unseen Realms and the normal world, too.
That sinister something needs a power Mac has.
Now Mac is in a race to discover the answers.

In a previous career Jeremy Michelson worked for a small town newspaper. He had the curious privilege of reporting on the good, the bad, and the downright strange of small town life.
These days Jeremy lives in a larger town in the Pacific Northwest and likes it. He also does things like hiking, (the Pacific Northwest is awesome for hiking), wearing flannel shirts, and taking pretty pictures of mountains and waterfalls and scenic stuff like that.
When one of the family’s cats aren’t sitting on his keyboard, he entertains himself by writing about things he can’t stop thinking about.
