About this eBook

"I don't know what's wrong with you and that long face." She looked me up and down just like the bullies looked at me at school. Like I was too pitiful to live. "Hell, I'm goin' out because you need a daddy. Now straighten up your face and hand me my bra and cigarettes."

BREAD is a basic measure of sustenance. For life. For survival. And a young girl can pay a high price when she's trapped by the decisions adults make when they don't believe there's enough to go around.

Tommie is as "book brilliant" as she is "street naïve." But she knows that she is her own best hope for survival with her irresponsible and grasping mother. The book opens with Tommie watching her mother prepare for a date with her most recent catch, and later testifies to how much there is to lose when the predator becomes the prey.

You have every element needed for a successful book, but it seems that you lack in creativity towards the end. I don't ever look at the number of pages in a book because of this: it's not very difficult to sense the end of the book. In your book, I did just that. I feel like you got tired of writing and just "wrapped it up" too quickly, and too openly. Nice start, though.

I found this book randomly, but I am so glad I did. My goal is to read eighty-five books this year, and so far, this has been one of my favorites. Even through the hardships, there were quite a few laughs in this story.

I love this book. There were times where i got a little confused however overall the book was amazing. You should consider doing a part 2, as if Tommie as a teenager And what effects has the incidents from the first book affected her now as a teenager. Or maybe you could have her be an adult raising her own child and going through some drama. Just saying i would love to see where this book could go. I hope you are actually reading these comments. Its great feed back. Keep writing! !!!
