Emmeline Tober
Nora Roberts has ruined love for me; completely untarnished the possibility that true love is even possible to find in our hateful, modern, technological, shallow culture. Once upon a time, true love existed. Books have been written about it, songs have been sung about it, even some semi decent films have been made to convince us that once it did indeed exist But now all we have are our illusions. Our jobs, our phones, our televisions, our schedules, our "partners" and our "children" who are just another notch on our daily list of illusions. The majority of us will live life completely asleep. I will never forgive Nora for making me believe in true love. Nor for breaking my heart with the reminder that I'm living in the wrong place and the wrong time. What a wonderful dream, was this book. So much so that having to wake up to mediocre reality only made me wish to dream again. Warning: do not read if you do not believe in true love. Nora will rip that illusion right out of you.
