Barry Greene began playing guitar in 1971 when he was ten years old. Strongly influenced by Wes Montgomery, George Benson, and Pat Martino, Barry has developed into a world-class guitarist, arranger, and composer. He has recorded or performed with such artists as Tim Hagans, Danny Gottlieb, Gene Bertoncinni, Scott Wendholt, Kenny Drew Jr., Adam Nussbaum, Warren Bemdhardt, Russell Malone, Ron Affif, and Colin Bailey. Barry's first CD, the Sojourner, has been well received by both the press and the music industry. Just Jazz Guitar magazine says, " ... his improvisations were creative with impeccable technique .... " 20th Century Guitar wrote, '' It has all the urgency of the best of Pat Martino's work ... Sojourner is a mixture of original music and standards in both trio and quartet formats." The CD has also received positive web reviews from allaboutjazz.com, " ... an excellent player, a superior musician with power to spare ... " Presently, Barry is involved in several projects with Mel Bay Publications, and is writing compositions for another release to be recorded soon. He continues to endorse Thomastik-lnfeld strings and Buscarino Guitars and has performed at the Long Island Guitar Show held in New York, for the past three years. In addition, Barry has been an instructor at the prestigious National Guitar Workshop held each summer in Connecticut. Barry is an Associate Professor of Jazz Guitar at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, where he has been an instructor since 1995. He teaches two guitar ensembles, as well as applied guitar, arranging, and improvisation. Barry has composed or arranged nearly seventy pieces of guitar ensemble music as well as several big band compositions. He and his wife Sara and son Mitchell, reside in St. Augustine, Florida.

Adrian Ingram, one of the foremost authorities on the jazz guitar, has written extensively on the history, players, styles and instruments of the genre. As an educator he ran the prestigious jazz guitar course at Leeds College of Music, England, for almost 15 years, during which time he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) for his outstanding contribution to music education.
