Yuuki Kodama ist ein echter Filmfreak und liebt Filme der Kult-Regisseure Quentin Tarantino (Jango Unchained), Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: Erste Entscheidung), Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) und Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead). Außerdem ist er ein Fan von Garagenrock, sammelt Tierfiguren und isst gern Sushi. Seit 2009 erscheint seine Mystery-Comedy Blood Lad im Young Shonen Ace-Magazin. 2012 entwickelte er zusammen mit Kanata Yoshino, der Gewinnerin des renommierten Kadokawa-Nachwuchspreises, den Spin-off Blood Lad Brat.
