Acerca de este libro electrónico

Bacterial Efflux Systems, Volume 722 covers experimental and computational approaches to study the function, structure, and mechanism of bacterial efflux pump systems. The methods covered include preparation of samples for structural and functional analyses and in vivo activity analysis. Specific chapters in this release cover Efflux pump functional assays, NMR and functional analysis efflux pumps, Methods for saturation mutagenesis and functional characterization, Cooperation and functional interplay between pumps, Mapping interactions, HDX-MS, and much more.Other sections cover Recombinant Expression and purification, Reconstitution of a RND efflux pump in different artificial membranes for a structural biology approach, Reconstitution of rnd and mfs efflux pumps for structural biology, CusCBA system, Expression and purification of efflux pumps of Gram positives, Expression and purification of efflux pumps of archaea, ABC transporters: BmrA preparation for NMR and PatA/PatB in peptidisc, In situ structural analysis of efflux assemblies by cryoET, Molecular dynamics simulations, and so much more. - Includes interdisciplinary approaches for analysis of structure-mechanism of the complex nanomachines - Provides approaches to study function in vivo - Presents methods for the reconstitution of nanomachines and for measuring activity

Acerca del autor

Ben Luisi works in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, where he has an appointment as professor of structural biology. He and his colleagues study the structure and mechanism of efflux pumps and the riboregulatory machinery that help to control the expression of the pumps and other complex systems in bacteria.
