Truth is not only superficial but also disagreeable. It is a well-documented author. Krus Since Joshi has been in his police service, his secret lies in the story line. The second uniqueness of these stories is the image of Inspector Pradhan, the police officer. Illustration of a police officer who investigated in Marathi literature has been shown to be somewhat distorted. Actually, the investigation of crimes is a science and art is also seen. Without intelligence, tactics and courage, there is no need to investigate successfully. This truth will be seen by the readers because of the police image of these stories.
‘सत्य हे कल्पनेपेक्षाही केवळ अद्भूतच नाही तर विदारकही असते.' याचा पदोपदी प्रत्यय लेखक व. कृ. जोशी यांना त्यांच्या पोलिसीसेवेत आला असल्याने त्यांच्या रहस्य कथा साहित्यात वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण ठरल्या आहेत. या कथांचे दुसरे वेगळेपण म्हणजे यांतील इन्स्पेक्टर प्रधान या पोलिस अधिकाऱ्याची प्रतिमा. मराठी साहित्यात तपास करणाऱ्या पोलिस अधिकाऱ्याचे चित्रण हे काहीसे विकृत स्वरुपात दाखवले गेले आहे. वास्तविकदृष्ट्या पाहिले तर गुन्ह्यांचा तपास हे एक शास्त्र आहे आणि कलाही आहे. तेव्हा बुद्धिमत्ता, चातुर्य आणि धाडस इत्यादी गुण असल्याशिवाय यशस्वी तपास होऊच शकत नाही. हे सत्य या कथांमधील पोलिस प्रतिमेमुळे वाचकांच्या निदर्शनास येईल.’
