Atisa is waiting for his intrepid mother Gaea to get back from her undersea investigation of a labyrinth when a stranger and his flying machine crash down near his father Gesar’s flying school. While tinkering with the old contraption, Atisa takes off into the air unexpectedly and finds himself hovering above Pharaoh Khufu’s Great Pyramid, one of the wonders of the ancient world. That is the beginning of Atisa’s wide-eyed, daring and incredible journey to the seven wonders of the world—the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia , the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum of Maussollos, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Witness to the building of these amazing structures and their colourful history, Atisa is convinced that he is following the footsteps of Daedelus Daedalus, the mythical Greek artist, inventor and master craftsman. Daedelus Daedalus had designed the labyrinth to house the monstrous Minotaur but soon found himself imprisoned in it along with his son, Icarus. In his bid to escape, Daedelus Daedalus had built wings for both of them. Icarus had always been thought to have drowned at sea but Atisa comes across quite a different and exciting story . . . Full of thrills, chills and spills, Atisa and the Seven Wonders weaves fact and fiction to take you on an action-packed, imaginative and informative exploration of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
