Einsam ist, wer sich einsam fühlt. 10 bis 20 Prozent der Deutschen sind – durch die Corona-Pandemie noch einmal verstärkt – von Einsamkeit betroffen. Einsamkeit wird – anders als Alleinsein – von schmerzlichem Empfinden begleitet, kann nicht willentlich beendet werden und sich negativ auf Wohlbefinden und Gesundheit auswirken. Wie entsteht Einsamkeit? Wie hängt Einsamkeit mit Selbstbild, Beziehungskompetenz, Lebenssinn zusammen? Welche theologischen Perspektiven gibt es in Bezug auf Einsamkeit? Wo erleben Menschen Einsamkeit in kirchlichen Kontexten oder diakonischen Handlungsfeldern? Mit welchen Strategien und Konzepten kann Einsamkeit begegnet werden? Müsste auch die Einsamkeitsprävention – z. B. durch frühzeitige Vermittlung von psychischer Gesundheitskompetenz und Stärkung von zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen – in den Blick genommen werden? Ten to twenty percent of Germans are affected by loneliness – made more acute by the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike being alone, loneliness is accompanied by painful feelings, cannot be ended voluntarily and causes stress to well-being and health. How does loneliness arise? How is loneliness related to one's self-image, competence in relationships, and sense for meaning of life? What theological perspectives exist on loneliness? Where do people experience loneliness in church contexts or diaconal fields of action? What strategies and concepts can be used to counter loneliness? Should we also consider loneliness prevention, e.g., teaching mental health skills and strengthening interpersonal relationships at an early age? These and other questions are explored in this volume of essays.
