On 9th August 2024, a 31 years old lady PG trainee doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, India, was brutally raped and murdered in the same hospital. Her body was found in a college seminar room of R.G.Kar Medical College.

This incident sparked a spontaneous mass movement across the world. People took to the streets in protest. The media carried out their duties in their own way.

The book has made an attempt to arrange the time of the first hundred days of the incident with the newspaper cutting from the Ananda Bazar, The Times of India, Eisamay, Samnarg and the Bartaman newspaper.   We are breeze to all these leading newspapers.

About the author

The author of this compendium brings over 30 years of dedicated experience in the field of social development. Throughout his career, he has been associated with several prominent national and international organizations, including CINI (Child in Need Institute), CINI-ASHA, Save the Children, Tomorrow's Foundation, and Sundarban Social Development Centre. He currently serves as the Director of Programs at The Kidney Care Society, a national-level organization.

In recognition of his lifelong commitment to social causes, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the American Merit Council in 2024.

His work has spanned diverse segments of society, engaging with individuals across various socio-economic backgrounds. He has worked extensively with vulnerable children and adolescents—such as street children, child laborers, children living around railway stations, and those from brick kilns and construction sites—on critical issues related to education and child protection.

A socially conscious individual, he has not only written prolifically on pressing social issues, with many of his articles published in leading newspapers, but has also actively participated in grassroots advocacy. His unwavering commitment to principles and human rights is reflected in both his professional and personal life.
