Opening night of Chef Jessica Vasquez's new restaurant: The Crock Pot. With the media spotlighting the opening on the evening news and food bloggers featuring the restaurant online, the pressure is on.

She thought she'd have to worry about burned food or slow ticket times, but nothing prepared her for a dead body by the dumpster.

Suspicion is cast on Jess, and she’s taken to the police station for questioning. She doesn't want to be compared to her father, so she’s thrust into the role of sleuth to clear her name, find her friend’s murderer, and save her business.

But the more she digs into the murder, it becomes clear that someone has it in for her and her business.
