A Vasudevan is an economist who has occupied various senior advisory positions in central banks in India and abroad. He had a long stint in the RBI and retired as an Executive Director of the RBI in 2000. During 2006–2012, he was associated with the Central Bank of Nigeria in Senior Advisory capacities. He was Visiting Professor (UGC) at Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, Pune, in 2004. He served as a member of the two Technical Advisory Committees on Monetary Policy and on the History of the Reserve Bank of India. His recent publications include Central Banking for Emerging Market Economies (2nd edition 2013) and Monetary Governance (2010).
Partha Ray is Director of National Institute of Bank Management, Pune, India. From 2012 – 2021, he was Professor of Economics at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He served as an Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the IMF, Washington DC, during 2007–2011. He worked in the specialist cadre of Economists in RBI’s Economic Research Department from 1989–2006 in various capacities. He has written extensively on monetary policy, banking and finance issues. His recent publications include Law of One Price (with Vinodh Madhavan, 2023), Financial and Fiscal Policies: Crises and New Reality (jointly with Y. V. Reddy and Narayan Valluri, 2015), and Monetary Policy (2013).
