Ian Christie shows how the film drew on many sources and traditions to create a unique form of modern masque, treating contemporary issues with witty allegory and enormous visual imagination. He believes the film deserves to be thought of as one of cinema's greatest achievement.
نبذة عن المؤلف
Ian Christie has written and broadcast widely on Powell and Pressburger. His books include Arrows of Desire: the Films of Powell and Pressburger (1985/94) and a critical edition of the screenplay of The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1994). He is Professor of Film and Media History at Birkbeck, University of London.
