This book comprises a trio of stories depicting true life struggles for people in all walks of life. It shows how individuals can spoil what is good in life through their stubbornness, jealously, harsh words and anger. Misunderstandings arise that would be easier to face and talk about instead of walking away. No problem is insurmountable if confronted instead of ignored.
Extracts of the three stories:
Biddy penny farthing
"Are you Conner?" the young woman asked.
"Who is asking?" he replied without a smile and surly look on his face.
"I am, I own the cottage and there is no need to be rude either," Maire replied.
Innocent until proven guilty
"I can’t believe she doesn’t now what a tom is? What do you do for a living, Becky, do you work in the hospitality business?"
"No, I don’t, I’m an historian and I can't see what it has to do with my sister’s disappearance."
The misunderstanding
Doctor James Harrington leant on the rail of the ship and watched the tall man with sandy hair watch the two women board the ship, thinking "if I had a wife that looked like that, I wouldn’t let them go on a cruise on their own."
