Fun, creative hopepunk. I was initially confused about what was happening & which characters were/weren't human, but I’m glad I stuck with it. Be patient, go with the flow, watch the characters & story unfold. The characters are diverse, complex, & interesting; the language is lyrical & the imagery vivid. The setting is a dystopian future where economic inequality, environmental problems, & pandemics have caused many people to lose everything, but Cinnamon & her friends work for a better life.
