I haven't been able to log in. I've tried multiple times, but if I enter my email or phone number it asks me to log in with my MileagePlus number. I do that and set up a password, then it takes me back to the first step again. No matter what I enter it asks me to create a password again. I've tried using the app as a guest, but it won't capture my passport. It says "too far" so I inch closer until it says "too close".

In general this app lets you do what you want. The check-in process is quite slow, but that might be due to United's back-end systems rather than the app. I get a repeated app crash trying to check one member of my party in, however. Android says the app contains a bug. Hopefully the 8–10 app crash reports you've just received will help you fix your software bugs, United dev team!

You have to go to the trips tab to see your trips vs on the home page listing your upcoming trips. home page is continue where you left. so I almost booked the same trip twice because I didn't see it. Also United only allows personal item with basic economy where Delta gives you both (free carry on and personal item).
