Marion Goldman

Marion S. Goldman received her doctorate from the University of Chicago and is Professor of Sociology at the University of Oregon. She began work on Gold Diggers and Silver Miners while teaching at the University of Nevada where she was encouraged by denizens of Reno to develop an interest in prostitution of the past, not of the present.
