Stephen has haunted Linda M. Mutty for forty-five years. She met him in 1972 when he appeared in a short story she was composing for a graduate course in short story writing. Three and a half pages was all he, the main character, demanded at the time. Forty-five years later, Linda and he have been reacquainted; he frozen in time and she a recently retired middle school English teacher. He knew, all along, what the result would be of her newly found free time, and stubbornly refusing to be confined to those few yellowed pages any longer, he emerges as the antagonist in this, her second novel. No specter now but still in control, or so he thinks. Ironically, the original short story was entitled, Home Again. Linda lives in Carmel, California with her wise and loving husband.
