Born near Liverpool in the north of England, Fiona moved to Paris at the age of twenty three, where she taught English for ten years. Returning to England she lived for several years in Kent, teaching in Canterbury and Folkestone. Marriage brought her back to the north of England, where she still lives now. Fiona and Tod have allotments where they grow fruit, flowers and vegetables, and where Tod keeps bees. They have a flock of ex battery hens, and a rescue dog, Buzz. Following their first visit to Nepal in 2009 'A Beard In Nepal' was published. They have returned twice more to the country, and maintain contact with their friends there.
