Debbie Young

After a long career in journalism, public relations and marketing, Debbie Young now lives and works in a small village in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, where she and her Scottish husband Gordon and their daughter Laura are very involved in their local community. Both Gordon and Laura have Type 1 Diabetes.Debbie also enjoys travelling in the family's small motorhome, gaining inspiration wherever she goes for her wide-ranging blog.She writes both fiction and non-fiction books and contributes regular columns to various magazines and websites. She is currently writing her first novel.She is very active in the international self-publishing community. Commissioning Editor of the Alliance of Independent Authors' advice blog, she also helps other independent authors to market their books. She is a public speaker for the JDRF and a member of its regional development committee. She is also a keen supporter of the UK children's charity Read for Good, whose Readathon sponsored reading programme encourages children to read for pleasure, and whose ReadWell scheme makes life better for seriously ill children in hospital by providing free books and storytellers. She is never bored.
