D. J. Herda is an award-winning, full-time professional writer/journalist with more than four decades of writing, editing, ghostwriting, and publishing experience. A graduate of Columbia College's Fiction Writing Workshop, he is author of more than eighty published books and several hundred thousand short pieces, in addition to numerous screenplays, stage plays, and audio and video scripts. He is a long-time member of The Author's Guild and a former member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the Washington Press Club. He has taken several years off from publishing to edit and develop several of his books in progress and to begin developing a growing marketing and promotional platform. An avid student of Ernest Hemingway, Herda created and taught Creative Writing Workshop at several Chicago-area colleges and throughout the Midwest and maintains his strong ties to magazine and newspaper editors.
