About this ebook

This is an open access book.NDIEAS-2024: Discussions on environmental challenges frequently center around human dependence, susceptibility, and resilience. Yet, the subject matter of the present anthropological discussion regarding the ecological framework would mainly concentrate on spatial advertising and scientific investigation. In this symposium, the focus will be expanded to include human anthropology as a fundamental element of the political notion of environmental sustainability and the foundation for effective local, national, and global actions. Humanity’s survival entirely depends on the environment. However, we further rely on sociopolitical and legal frameworks, which are open to capture, misdirection, confusion. With this viewpoint in mind, the panel discussion will look at how neoliberalism, both international and national legal and political frameworks; and other factors have influenced, how we perceive the world around us. It is going to capitalize on environmental anthropology’s observations as well as additional crucial elements to evaluate the spread of sustainable solutions to environmental issues and look at the ways in which forces like globalization and technological advancement might give people a “false” sense of invulnerability. While significant, the assumptions of mitigation as well as adaptation require as well to be looked into. The expansion of industries, greater manufacturing, and consumerism are goals of globalization and another neoliberal socio-economic reconfiguration, which has a tendency to encourage human abuse of the environment and reduce our ability to respond to issues related to the environment.
