Fitz makes me mad. Better yet Hobbs does. She had to be somewhat stupid. It's like Fitz can't think right. I'm thinking do this that's what a father would do. He does nothing, says nothing. To keep his daughter out of it. He just lets them use him. I would think even serving a kingdom would allow someone to have a life and I say so. He needs some balls and stand up and say no.

I've enjoyed the first four in the series of books featuring Fitz. Hobb has a gift for creating enigmatic characters and putting them in locales most fascinating. Her skilful weaving of plots are like the finest minstrel on the lyre. The fifth book in the series was nowhere near as good. That's alright, i figured, it happens to the best of 'em. This sixth book however takes a nosedive into mindless drivel. Insufferable personas and an asinine, uninspired plot made me wish the whole lot of them would just get devoured by the dragon and be done with once and for all. A book best consigned to the dumpster fires, I say, and summarily forgotten.

Fitz's adventures are fantastic and imaginative and the characters are interesting with good depth, but I was sorely disappointed with the end. I mean [SPOILER ALERT] they find out about him while he's unconscious; what a waste of great dialogue.[/SPOILERS] Looking forward to the continuation of Fitz in August, though.
