About this ebook

At last, we have the scientific evidence that documents the manybiological gender differences that influence learning. Forinstance, girls talk sooner, develop better vocabularies, readbetter, and have better fine motor skills. Boys, on the other hand, have better auditory memory, are better at three-dimensionalreasoning, are more prone to explore, and achieve greater abstractdesign ability after puberty.

In this profoundly significant book, author Michael Guriansynthesizes the current knowledge and clearly demonstrates how thisdistinction in hard-wiring and socialized gender differencesaffects how boys and girls learn. Gurian presents a new way toeducate our children based on brain science, neurologicaldevelopment, and chemical and hormonal disparities. The innovationspresented in this book were applied in the classroom and provensuccessful, with dramatic improvements in test scores, during atwo-year study that Gurian and his colleagues conducted in sixMissouri school districts.

I really am agitated with this author. I did not give him permission to use my name nor do I want my name in his half minded book. There are many personal beliefs when it comes to girls wrestling in high school against boys. Before you open your mouth you should know the full story. Girls can and will do everything boys do. They don't have to participate with the boys but they can still do it. The quote on page 283 is ridiculous "girls must do everything boys do and do it with boys." Girls do for the most part what they want to do and as far as doing it with boys they don't have to. If the school system was to be equal when it comes to sports they would offer the same for both sexes. I had a boy on my wrestling team who also was on the field hockey team. I don't see any story about him in a book, or anyone using him as an example. The reason girl's are competing with boy's for the most part is because there are no girl teams. (I know this is why I competed with boys) Also the law states you can not discriminate. So if you are so worried about the effects this has on boys take it up with the school systems. I do not recommend this book and honestly I wouldn't even use it for fire wood. If this review seems personal its because it is. Author's should not be allowed to use someone in their book as an example wihout their permission. Especially when they don't agree what what is being said.

This is true I also noticed there are more female teachers in the child's younger years who expect boys to behave like girls. If they dont meet those expectations they view them as trouble makers who need to be evaluated. There needs to be more male teachers as well for the boys.
