About this ebook

WINNER OF THE NEWBERY MEDAL AND NATIONAL BOOK AWARD
ONE OF TIME MAGAZINE'S 100 BEST YA BOOKS OF ALL TIME

The iconic, multi-million bestselling novel. An unmissable modern classic.

'Joyous... Everyone should be reading it, including adults' Cressida Cowell, author of How to Train your Dragon

Stanley Yelnats' family has a history of bad luck, so when a miscarriage of justice sends him to Camp Green Lake Juvenile Detention Centre (which isn't green and doesn't have a lake), it's not exactly a surprise.

Every day he and the other inmates are told to dig a hole each, five foot wide by five foot deep, reporting anything they find. Why? The evil warden claims that it builds character, but this is a lie. It's up to Stanley to dig up the truth.

A masterpiece of storytelling that combines sly humour with irresistible, page-turning writing.
CONTAINS EXCLUSIVE NEW MATERIAL FROM THE AUTHOR, PLUS A FOREWORD FROM PRIZE-WINNING AUTHOR PHIL EARLE AND READING GROUP NOTES

'A witty, moving read that grabs you and never lets up' Daily Telegraph

Once o started reading this I was devastated to find out about a boy named Stanley Yelnats who was accused of theft at the begging but towards the end that's a different story. At the end of every page there was always a surprise. The front cover of the book is what is known as a yellow spotted lizard which has exactly 11 yellow spots on its body. Throughout the story we are constantly dragged back to the past where Stanley reminds us about the curse that lay on his family. I would recommend this to anyone

AHHH, like the best book ever. So intertainting and had heaps of cliffhangers for your enjoyment. Can't wait to go watch the movie. Go ahead a read this book. You WON'T regret it. I love the end of the story it's so breath taking and I was on the end of seat reading. It's also a great idea how the reader switched between storys but they still related.

I absolutely love the book. I want to read it all over again and again and so on... I finished reading it at school and I think i would buy it straight from ebook. It's about a boy called Stanley Yelnats (which is Stanley backwards) who is traped at Camp Green Lake ( with no lake or green grass) all bexause of his grate grate grandfather's curse. He discovers a treasure with his best friend, Zero, at the end then finally goes home. So far it is the best book I've read.❤❤❤TOTALLY RECOMMAND IT!
