3.25 stars. It is mostly dual POV, heavily female lead (Inara), well written, and an interesting dubcon, erotic BDSM romance. I enjoyed the cleverness of the writing. I definitely enjoyed the highly erotic BDSM intimate scenes. I struggled with the non-romance plot, a lot. But that is a me issue. If you enjoy dark erotic romance and a Batman retelling, this is a great story and I recommend it. I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Dark and exciting. You think you know who they both are, and then Boom. Rex and Inara are in a complicated strong relationship and just when I had it clear in my head it all changed. I don't usually like cliffhangers but this one is great and I am really enjoying it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So I have to admit, the tagline that this was a Batman retelling was definitely not what drew me to this book. It was the author. I've read Savino's books before and had to trust that she would take me for a delightful, dark ride. She did not disappoint! (**Please note that there are no capes involved in the writing of this story) I love me some darkness and an OTT possessive love interest and this story has a lot of possessiveness going on! Definitely looking forward to the rest!
