About this ebook

Someone is killing unmarked souls.

💀 And Ru Roberts is the only one who can stop them—if she can figure out who (or what) she really is.

Ru was adopted as a child and never knew her birth parents.

Her adoptive mom insists she was abandoned because she “ruins everything.”

Hence the name—Ruin.

Now, Ru’s just trying to live a quiet life as a fourth-grade teacher 🍎 in Reaper’s Hollow.

Too bad she can’t touch anything electrical without starting a fire. 🔥

Then Cutter Michaels walks into her life.

Charming 😏. Mysterious 🌘. And possibly insane—

because he claims she’s the last Keeper

👼 half-angel, 😈 half-demon—

and the only one who can help him stop the Reapers from opening portals to the Underworld. ⚔️

Ru isn’t buying it.

At least, not until she starts dreaming of Thanatos, the most powerful Reaper of all. 🖤

As the line between fantasy and fate blurs, Ru must decide:

Will she run from the truth…

Or step into the power written in her blood? 🔮

Ruin’s Lot is the first book in the Reaper’s Hollow series—

a thrilling paranormal fantasy with forbidden magic, slow-burn romance ❤️, and the fate of the world hanging by a thread.

The storyline was very enjoyable. However... STOP USING THE LORD'S NAME IN VAIN - That includes: God, Lord (referring to God), Jesus, Christ, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, etc. When using the above in ecstasy, in sexual circumstances, in anger/etc., in any way as swear words, you need to STOP. STOP following the crowd or the modern-day popular speach pattern of ABUSING any of the above words. - It is NOT OK. "The Bible verse that forbids using the Lord's name in vain is Exodus 20:7: "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name"." ** Please rather concentrate on your very enjoyable writing style & storylines, instead of causing repeated negative associations & repeated misuse of the words that refer to The Lord God Almighty. **

7/10 stars. The first half of the book was interesting and new. The world building was fairly clear and understandable. Sadly, the second half of the story was tedious and dragged on to a somewhat predictable ending.

About the author

ID Johnson wears many hats: mother, wife, editor, tutu maker, and writer, to name a few. Some of her favorite people are the two little girls who often implore that she "watch me!" in the middle of forming finely crafted sentences, that guy who dozes off well before she closes her laptop, and those furry critters at the foot of the bed at night. If she could do anything in the world, she would live in Cinderella's castle and write love stories all day while sipping Dr. Pepper and eating calorie-less Hershey's kisses. For now, she'll stick to her Dallas-area home and spending her days with the characters she's grown to love.
