After Joanna Webber’s husband, Ted, dies, along with his girlfriend that she knew nothing about, she hatches a plan to dig herself out of the debt he left behind. What’s the plan? Become a medium.

It’s not that farfetched as she had powers as a child, but blocked them for her sanity, but mostly to appease her mother.

So how then does she become a semi-famous medium touring and having a fully booked schedule? She fakes it, leaning on her amazing research skills and her two amazing assistants.

Though she may not be the most honest medium, she tries to bring her clients peace and closure during their grief. Her fame grows as she is really quite good at what she does and has a sparkly, charismatic personality.

It's her fame that leads to her being contacted by a local pharmaceutical executive, Jeremy Landon. He wants help to investigate a death that has been ruled an accident. He is adamant it is murder.

Why should she help him? She’s a medium, not a homicide detective. What skills does she have?

The only skill that matters – she can see him.

Jeremy turns out to be exactly like Ted, a lying, cheating husband. Figures after nearly twenty years, the first ghost she’d meet would be exactly like her ex.

Begrudgingly she decides to help him if only to give Jeremy’s widow the answers and peace Joanna so desperately craves herself. After all, caring and helping others is her brand, A Medium with a Heart.
