After several great books in other story lines, we are back to the original Blackwood Security story. Many of our favorite characters make an appearance, though the main characters Ford and Hallie are developed for the first time. This book has the familiar Elise Noble flair – interesting “who dunnit” crime solving interwoven with a nice romance. As usual, people get what is coming to them, whether good or bad – one of my favorite parts of Elise’s books. There are some uniquely cute and funny scenes, including a parrot as foul-mouthed as Emmy, and seeing from Ford’s perspective how the Blackwood clan looks to an outsider. As always, Elise has also masterfully introduced new characters we are sure to see again, as well as continued to add spicy little details that keep adding on to what we know about characters from previous books, who may soon have their own stories. Cannot wait!

Pretties in Pink exceeds all expectations! Elise Noble has once again proven her ability to take the reader on an adventurous and exciting journey that will leave a lasting impression. Using her special brand of humor, intrigue and romance, the story unfolds. Blackwood Security is a unique employment opportunity. Employees have not only found employment but also they have found a family, a home, a haven, and direction which is how Hallie Chastain has come to work there. Blackwood Securities is asked to prove that the man arrested for a kidnapping is innocent. PI Hallie Chastain is seeking to find proof of his innocence but finds she is also working through her painful past. Hallie and Detective Ford Prestia, a new detective on the force, team up in their search for the the abducted little girl.

Elise Noble has surpassed herself if that is possible. Though lots of Blackwood characters from previous books appear, including the heroine, this can be read as a standalone. Fans have waited for Hallie's story for a while, but we couldn't have imagined the horror, intrigue, suspense and romance packed into this. Add a foul-mouthed parrot for plenty of laughs. Brilliant book. Once I finished, I just had to read it again. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
