Differently Morphous is the latest and greatest tale to emerge from the mind of writer Yahtzee Croshaw (Mogworld, Jam, Will Save the Galaxy for Food).
A magical serial killer is on the loose, and gelatinous, otherworldly creatures are infesting the English countryside. Which is making life for the Ministry of Occultism difficult, because magic is supposed to be their best kept secret.
After centuries in the shadows, the Ministry is forced to unmask, exposing the country's magical history--and magical citizens--to a brave new world of social media, government scrutiny, and public relations.
On the trail of the killer are the Ministry's top agents: a junior operative with a photographic memory (and not much else), a couple of overgrown schoolboys with godlike powers, and a demonstrably insane magician.
But as they struggle for results, their superiors at HQ must face the greatest threat the Ministry has ever known: the forces of political correctness . . .

Croshaw's good with a red herring and manages to foreshadow everything cleverly. A bit on the nose with political satire but it only pushes just hard enough to be hilarious. On its own(or perhaps the series) it's good, his other works add context to the many references and add a certain flavor. I'd give it a 4*, (which is good) but, ya know there's tons of garbage for competition.

Eldritch mystery collides awkwardly with modern polite society. This mystery will have you eagerly chasing confusion through twisted hallways made by the mad bastard, Yahtzee.

i liked this one,not as much as jam.an interesting read which teleports you about two inches to the left and in a dimension where sea otters are the dominant species and for some reason clam bake is illegal.and no those aren't spoilers about the book,well not as far as i know anyhow.all in all a great time but i couldn't help but wonder the entire time if i was going to see X or Y in a different state (har har).

Yahtzee Croshaw is a British-Australian comedic writer, video game journalist, author, and video game developer. He is best known for his acerbic video game review series, Zero Punctuation, for The Escapist. Before this, Croshaw gained attention in the Adventure Game Studio community for his video games. Croshaw also writes a weekly supplementary column for The Escapist, Extra Punctuation, as well as the video series Judging by the Cover.
Croshaw has published two novels through Dark Horse Comics. The first was Mogworld, published in August 2010.The second, Jam, was released in October 2012. A third is forthcoming. He also cohosts a weekly podcast/Let's Play hybrid series, Let's Drown Out, along with cohost Gabriel Morton.
