**2022 SPLATTERPUNK AWARD NOMINATED**

COUNTING BODIES LIKE SHEEP

18 authors tread through the muck and mud to add their own stories to the every-growing meat-pile of carnage and chaotic aftermath when bad decisions come full-circle. COUNTING BODIES LIKE SHEEP is the fourth extreme horror anthology from The Evil Cookie Publishing. Pushing the limits with fast-paced, high-gore elements and plots, this anthology holds no punches and blurs the line between sanity and insanity.

Gerard Houarner fell to Earth in the fifties and has been trying to recover ever since, mostly through reading and writing. He earned a living as a mental health professional, which influenced his focus on the darker aspects of life and humanity.

Retired now, he continues to add to the over 300 stories he’s had published over roughly 45 years, and hopes to add some more novels to the list. He also serves as Fiction Editor for Space and Time Magazine.

Edward Lee has been writing since 1982; he has had over 50 books published, most being in the horror genre and many internationally. He lives in Largo, Florida.

Christine Morgan divides her writing time among many genres, from horror to historical, from superheroes to smut, anything in between and combinations thereof. She’s a future crazy-cat-lady and a longtime gamer, who enjoys British television, cheesy action/disaster movies, cooking and crafts. Which latter two led a podcast to refer to her as “The Martha Stewart of extreme horror,” so, make of that what you will!

Her short stories have appeared in over a hundred anthologies. Her novels include the historical pioneer blizzard snow monastery White Death, the Splatterpunk Award Winning Lakehouse Infernal, the totally trashy Spermjackers From Hell, the deep-sea chompy Trench Mouth, the splattery western The Night Silver River Run Red, and others.

She also takes on editing and proofreading gigs, was a longtime contributor to The Horror Fiction Review, and has twice earned an Honorable Mention from Ellen Datlow in the Year’s Best series.

Christine currently lives in southern California, where she is her mother’s full-time live-in caregiver. She is always glad to hear from readers, as well as other authors and hey, agents, publishers, movie people, it's all good!

A 20+ year veteran of the video game industry, Richard Dansky has written for franchises including The Division, Splinter Cell, Far Cry and more. He has written eight novels, most recently GHOST OF A MARRIAGE, and lives in North Carolina with his cat and an overscoped collection of single malt scotch.

Mike James Davis is a short story horror author with an emphasis on the weird and absurd. He grew up and currently lives in the idyllic Chicagoan suburbs of Illinois, the setting of which is the inspiration for many tales.

As a father of two and a man of the routines that surround his life, his stories tend to escalate the mundane and find the absurd, sometimes grotesque, sometimes humorous horror within.

Deep within the crime infested streets of a filth ridden city, a hero rises tall and proud. No folks, not Bruce Wayne

After surviving the harsh environment of Flint, Michigan, Josh Davis received a knack for all things horror. After reading an insane amount of classic horror literature, and watching countless “video nasties”, Davis tried his hand at creation, and the rest is history.

After writing for a few websites, Davis landed his first anthology in 2016, and has since published two collections and novels. His newest book, The Senior Citizens’ Bingo Hall Death Cage Extravaganza is due out this year.

He now resides in Otisville, Michigan with his family.

Robert Essig is the author of over a dozen books including Tweaker Creatures, Stronger Than Hate, Death Obsessed, and Shallow Graves (with Jack Bantry).

He has published well over 100 short stories, most recently in Double Barrel Vol. 3 and Welcome to the Splatter Club.

He is the editor of the anthology Chew on This! Robert lives with his family in East Tennessee.

Dustin LaValley is the author of the short story collection, A Soundless Dawn, and the novella collection, Songs from a Street Sweeper. H/armed, his ultra-violent satirical horror thriller, was released by D&T Publishing in 2021.

His television and film credits include two Emmy nominated episodes of Escape at Dannemora, and the forthcoming miniseries, A Dark Profession.

Outside of writing, he’s a Sensei of Seito Shito Ryu karate, Judo, and Okinawan jujutsu. He’s worked as a civilian instructor for the NY State Police, NY State Corrections Officers, Air Marshals, and Army Rangers.

Jeremy Megargee has always loved dark fiction. He cut his teeth on R.L Stine’s Goosebumps series as a child and a fascination with Stephen King, Jack London, Algernon Blackwood, and many others followed later in life. Jeremy weaves his tales of personal horror from Martinsburg, West Virginia with his cat Lazarus acting as his muse/familiar.

He is an active member of the West Virginia chapter of the Horror Writer’s Association and you can often find him peddling his dark words in various mountain hollers deep within the Appalachians.

Lucas Milliron has been through some shit. Haven’t we all? The difference isn’t really the baggage, but how we carry it with us.

He was born and raised a native to Florida, the oldest of three siblings to a loving mother and father.

Lucas still resides in in South Florida with his wife.

Once an operating room registered nurse, Bridgett Nelson so enjoyed playing with human organs, she decided to turn her macabre interest into a horror writing career. She loves bubble baths (because nothing says spooooky writer like orange-scented bubbles), hates not knowing what’s swimming in the water with her, lives for Halloween season (but loathes chainsaw-wielding dudes in haunted houses), adores her West Virginia University Mountaineers, is very pro-Oxford comma, and thinks bananas are absolutely disgusting.

Bridgett has contributed to multiple anthologies and her debut collection, A Bouquet of Viscera, is now available!

More tidbits! Bridgett is a(n)…

HWA: WV Chapter co-chair. Editor. Audiobook proofer. Bookworm. Dog lover. Tarantula whisperer. Bra avoider. ENJF. Amaretto Sour obsessor.

Check out her website for more info.

Armand Rosamilia is a New Jersey boy currently living in sunny Florida, where he writes when he’s not sleeping. He’s happily married to a woman who helps his career and is supportive, which is all he ever wanted in life...

He’s written over 150 stories that are currently available, including horror, zombies, contemporary fiction, thrillers and more. His goal is to write a good story and not worry about genre labels. He not only runs two successful podcasts... Arm Cast Podcast—interviewing fellow authors as well as filmmakers, musicians, etc. The Mando Method Podcast with co-host Chuck Buda―talking about writing and publishing. But he owns the network they’re on, too! Project Entertainment Network. He also loves to talk in third person... because he’s really that cool.

You can find him at https://armandrosamilia.com for not only his latest releases but interviews and guest posts with other authors he likes.

Daniel J. Volpe is an author of extreme horror and splatterpunk. His love for horror started at a young age when his grandfather unwittingly rented him, A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Daniel has published with D&T publishing, Potter’s Grove and self-published.

He can be found on Facebook @ Daniel Volpe, Instagram @ dj_volpe_horror and Twitter @DJVolpeHorror

Trevor Newton works in agriculture by day and writes horror and crime fiction by night. When he isn't writing, he splits his free time between reading fiction of all kinds and watching old, forgotten films on VHS. Despite numerous rescue attempts, he remains stuck in the past, which is why you won't find him on social media. But be on the lookout—he has several forthcoming stories coming to the walls of restroom stalls near you. And sometimes they even make it into print!
