About the author
Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from John Hopkins University in 1973. Currently he is the Managing Director of the Industrial Management Co. in Bangkok and the Economic Advisor of the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand. He is also an advisor to the ASEAN Economic Research Unit of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies.
