About this app

The app for Android is different from anything else you've seen in weather forecasting: Scroll through a beautiful and animated sky to see how the weather changes hourly, and get all the need-to-know details at the same time. And if there will be rainfall within the next 90 minutes we'll let you know through our now-cast.

The weather visualization makes it a fun experience to check the weather – even when it's raining!

Check details day by day and hour by hour in the long-term forecast, or study the details in the graph.

Under "Around you" you get an overview of UV levels, air pollution and pollen spread, as well as the latest weather observations and webcams in your area. Locations outside Norway may have limited content if there is no available data.

Wear OS is a streamlined version of the app, and contains only the most important features from the weather service. Search for locations around the world and get a weather forecast for the coming days.

Forecasts are delivered by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

ABOUT US: Yr is a weather service jointly produced by NRK and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. Our primary goals are to secure life and property, while delivering useful and accurate weather forecasts to our users, preparing them for all kinds of weather. This year we are celebrating our ten-year anniversary, and with millions of users every day we are proud of being one of the most popular weather services in the world.

What happened? The last update removed the 3 days temperature graph, nicely aligned with the rain graph below... that was the best feature. You have ruined the app! Please bring back the graph. Before 5, now 2 stars. ----- Thank you for the reply I found it! I am so happy this made my day. Thank you for not ruining the app afterall. Keep up the good work. My apologies...

Hi, we have not removed the graph screen. You can find it under 10 days / graph. You can also set the graph screen as your start screen in the settings of the app. Best regards, YR.

UPDATE - There is still something wrong with the location list. The application did not open on the top item. Only after swapping some items it did. - I know about the units, that's what I wrote. Beaufort was even on my request. - Please read my 2 suggestions. REVIEW Currently I am annoyed because it always open up on Bergen. Why not on my last visited location, like I think it did before? By the way, I don't want it to use GPS location. Besides that, it is still my favourite weather app because of its clarity and completeness of information. Its graph is useful for short term overview. Its tables give detailed information over the course of days. A particular useful feature for me as an alpinist is that I noticed the temperatures to be adapted for altitude (I hope that's still true). An improvement has been to include Beaufort as wind unit as well. Something to wish for are multi day barographic/frontal charts on European size (HiRLAM style). And a higher update frequency like 3 times a day instead of 2 would also be very welcome.

Hi! The app will always open on top location of your location list. You can re-arrange them by long-pressing a favourite location, or selecting "edit list" in the overflow menu. Also, under the settings you can select Beaufort as your preferred wind unit. Regards, NRK/Yr

Now they have moved some buttons around, and added a 21 day forecast, but the graphs are still lacking their curves. The only exception is the one for gusts. When you switch to map, the app instantly shows the message "Sorry, we had trouble loading the map." 1. Who are "we"? Is the app remote controlled? Is it (they?) self aware? 2. The app should try loading the map before it claims to have difficulties.
