Wow, this compass is as good as it gets! I absolutely love it. I bought the ad free version the first day and still use it often. I use it in my truck to help me figure out if that occasional winding road is taking me in the right direction. Sometimes the bloated navigation maps are too much and don't tell you where you are unless you put in a destination. This compass app is simple, uncrowded and a joy to use. Please don't change a thing.

It's a compass. It works well enough for being a free compass app. Things get really wonky when you try to use GPS and which way you are facing. Your phone also needs to be level or thereabouts. If you are upside-down or sideways, the compass loses track of where you are facing by either 180 to 360 degrees. Small gripe though. Biggest gripe. Is the direction you're facing on GPS, doesn't work accurately enough

An excellent basic compass. Note: you may need to calibrate the magnetic sensor in your Smartphone first. To do this just hold the Smartphone and move it through several vertical "figure-of-eight" movements with the Digital Compass app open. If you don't do this you may get inaccurate results. The app includes a 'spirit level' (the small dot in the middle of the dial) that allows you to move the Smartphone until it is exactly horizontal for best results.
