I love this app. I've tried to learn sheet music many times but end up getting bored or frustrated, and I do not practise enough. At first, I didn't want to "cheat" by using the falling notes, but now I don't care because they allow me to play songs I want to play and enjoy them! Maybe someday I'll learn to read sheet music, but after all, it was originally the only possible way of reading music, and now, in the age of computers, falling notes is just a new way of reading music!

I've learned more songs in my four years of playing piano than with any other music software. But I have a suggestion. For everyone who doesn't have a MIDI keyboard, the app should have a sort of microphone operated sound detection algorithm (or whatever you would call it) which allows for the app to register what sounds come from the piano and show them on the screen via the audio feedback from the microphone. It's a genius idea and I think it will benefit all who don't own a MIDI keyboard.

Pretty bummed out to open synthesia today and discover that YEARS of data saved has disappeared. All of it. All of my song progress, statistics, recently played, everything. You name it, it's gone. Really sucks because I have thousands of midis on my device. That data helped me identify the songs I want to practice. I really can't tell you just how bad it sucks to have lost all of my data. All of it. Other than that pretty big complaint, I have no complaints.
