About this app
Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant is the free app dedicated to the treatment of water in swimming pools and spas. The app works together with Blueriiot water analyzers (Blue by Riiot, Blue Connect, Blue Connect Go, Blue Connect Plus, Smart Water Analyzer and Smart Water Analyzer Plus).
Associated with a Blueriiot water analyzer, the Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant app helps you to look after your pool 24/7, even when you are away. No more uncertainty about the water in your pool or spa. Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant allows you to enjoy again your pool or spa with total peace of mind.
The analyzer measures the temperature, pH, disinfectant level (chlorine, bromine, salt) and conductivity (salinity) of the water.
It automatically sends these measurements to the app via the Sigfox network (you can check your pool coverage at https://www.blueconnect.io/en/products/blue-connect/)
The Blueriiot analyzer also works in Bluetooth, which means that measurements can be taken via the Bluetooth network by pressing a button in the app, as long as you are close enough to the device.
It can also send the measurements via your Wi-Fi network thanks to the Blue Extender bridge (see below).
The Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant application gives access to your pool data, and sends an alert in the event of a problem:
● Dashboard: informs you of the status of the analyzer, the water temperature and the quality of your pool water.
● Table of values: informs you accurately of the values measured by the analyzer, trends and ideal values.
● Maintenance guide: advises you on the steps to follow with personalized chemical recommendations for your pool or spa, in order to maintain a clear and healthy water.
● Settings: allows you to configure the settings of your pool or spa and Blueriiot devices, and gives you access to technical assistance and support.

The Blueriiot range includes other products:
● Blue Check: smart strips. They work together with the free Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant app. Manually encode the result of the strips in the app and take advantage of the info and advice provided.
● Blue Fit50: a hose clamp which allows you to install Blue Connect in the technical room, directly on the piping.
● Blue Extender: a bridge that automatically sends the measurements via your Wi-Fi network. Especially useful if the location of your pool or spa is not covered by the Sigfox network.
● Blueriiot Premium: the advanced version of the Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant app, which includes even more features (more measurements, a complete measurement history, multiple access to a swimming pool, smart alerts, advanced settings, etc.)
Blueriiot Pool & Spa Assistant is compatible with some “Smart Home” apps such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa :

These smart personal assistants can provide you with information on the settings of your pool water (temperature, pH, redox, conductivity, salinity, etc.) as well as on the required maintenance action. All you need to do is ask. Example: “Ask Blue Connect about the pH of the water”.

Basically non-functional. Just says "Error loading data" but doesn't even hint at what the error might be. Chat with support also just spins. Did seem to take a Bluetooth reading and send it... somewhere... but I can't see it. And even though I already said that it just spins when I do so, they respond here and tell me to try support in the app...

So far, so good. Great product for monitoring the pool, only manages to connect to Sigfox once every couple of days though, so I'll be having to invest in the Blue Extender to make the most out of the subscription (as I work away). Would be good if the app had a tablet option, so it could be used with mounted smart home controllers/tablets (without having to turn your head sideways :-))

I've used the app for a few days with my new Blue Connect Premium. Checking the balance of chlorine and pH has never been so easy. The app is incredibly well designed for the user, intuitive, sleek, and a pleasure to use. I enjoy the accompanying Alexa skill where my wife can also easily find out what the spa temperature is. However, I've encountered two bugs already, of which I will contact support for. So I can't say it's a perfectly polished app, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. This brings me down half a star to 4.5. But then I'm dropping my rating down to 4 because unless you use one of the two designated brands of chemicals, which are not at my local pool shop, then it won't necessarily give you the accurate amount of product to add. I was assuming that I could set the concentration of chemicals I use, and whether liquid or solid, but no. Just two brands, and a generic, none of which necessarily match. With so many other options that have suggested default values, but are manually over-writable (such as the ORP thresholds, temperature, pH, etc, and a calculator to visually help you determine your volume of water, they clearly are very capable app developers, so it's clear that it is intentional that they don't let you configure your preferred brand of chemicals. Obviously they have a deal going on with these chemical companies. But if you've paid for the app, either through Google Play or via the > $500 price of the Blue Connect, c'mon guys, don't be greedy, stop double dipping! At least let me pay a once-off $10 extra to "allow" me to enter my chemical concentrations so I can fully enjoy the app. The two issues I"m having are overnight, notification once an hour telling me the temperature is 15.2 degrees, but when I review the dashboard it was slowly cooling from 25 to 20. So that makes no sense, notifications giving different values to what's actually recorded. Also, I can't edit any details in my pool, without getting an "error loading data".
