About this game

NETFLIX MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

Cross over into the world of "Black Mirror" and experience "Thronglets," the retro virtual pet simulation at the center of the Season 7 episode "Plaything." These pixel art critters won't just take over your phone; they could take over your life.

"Thronglets" was originally developed in the 1990s as experimental software by legendary Tuckersoft programmer Colin Ritman ("Metl Hedd," "Nohzdyve," "Bandersnatch"). This isn't a game; it's a life-form whose biology is entirely digital. No emulator required.

MORE THAN A PET SIMULATION

Hatch and evolve hundreds of cute creatures: Thronglets! Feed, bathe and entertain them to watch them multiply. One becomes two, two becomes four, and so on. Soon there will be so many you'll call them a Throng.

VIRTUAL EVOLUTION

As Thronglets evolve, so does the simulation, unlocking new tools, abilities, items and buildings — and much, much more. You may be surprised by your Thronglets! Evolve Thronglets at your own risk.

TEST YOUR PERSONALITY

Thronglets are curious and love to learn. Your actions and choices within this virtual world teach the Throng about you — and all of humankind. Once you've completed the experiment, share your personality test results to compare with friends on social media.

I found myself quickly addicted to this game, and completed it in my first sitting. The unlocking of new tools and buildings gives a great sense of achievement and progress. The interactions with and assessment of the player by the Throng are really amusing. It's just very unfortunate that the game is so short, and everything you've built and unlocked along the way is gone by the end. It would have been better to make it a game without an end with perpetual growth, or more replayability.

Hi Josh , and thanks for the review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the game's progression and interactions with the Throng. We hear your feedback on the game's length and adding more replayability or endless growth is a great suggestion. Stay tuned for updates, and thanks for playing!

This is the best mobile game İ played in a while. The progression is really fun and it's never boring because you unluck a new thing every once in a while. the only bad thing about this game is that it's too short. One can try to unlock all achievements. Also, no need to enable notifications since this game will make you finish it in one sitting. I did it twice.

I absolutely LOVE everything abt this game. The "tycoon" style, the graphisms, the plot, the dialogs, espacially the fact that everything you say is important. I really like this but the only issue is the blinkings everywhere, it's really confusing and uncomfortable, like when there is a polluted building you have a little logo blinking, but EVERYTHING is blinking too... It takes a while before i actually notice it bc i'm overstimulated by all these blinks. BUT, exept that, i love everything!!
