It's good. The story is fun and the character building depth is just enough for a game like this. Items add a layer on top, there are no must-have items for a build to work, it feels pretty well balanced. It's a too easy to get money (exiting a dungeon you just entered will cause you to lose 0 and gain 30+. And the 1%-of-your-current-gold per completion makes for easy infinite money). And the advanced mode is actually easier, so you're either playing less tactical or too easy. Still a good game.

As someone who likes to look at (negative) reviews before downloading a game I was slightly paranoid about a possible difficulty spike. As such I've proceeded to create a full-pasive cleric character on easy mode. If anyone wants a truly casual experience that is definitely your go to. On top of being unkilleable by any group of monsters, getting exp and gold becomes a simple task as well due to you being able to outheal resource damage and sanity drain, and can thus grind ambushes forever.

Thanks! I agree that the game is not at all that hard if you think things through before you act. I guess some players are just used to being handheld and coddled nowadays, especially on the mobile platform :)

A very, very good game. Unlike in most other dungeon crawlers much attention is given to the setting and story. The lore of the world is interesting and the writing is engaging. Combat is a lot of fun too. Hardcore difficulty is challenging but not unreasonable. I have to commend the dev for the payment model. I feared constant ads or being forced to buy progression, but paying for anything in this game is truly optional. Ads only happen once after every dungeon level so they never interrupt.
