Awesome app to use! However, it is missing at least 1 important aspect, a major issue that keeps it from getting 5 stars... The major issue is does not have Japanese as a option for languages. Why? What if I want to immerse myself in the Japanese language and learn the specifics. What about the lesson section? It is more of a output method to approaching Japanese but helps more after the immersion (aka input method) process that the app itself lacks. Other issues is unable to turn off captions.

I greatly enjoy watching NHK World Japan, but I encounter issues with video quality when streaming on mobile data, particularly noticeable on tablets. I would appreciate it if NHK could enhance the app by allowing users to select the streaming quality. Additionally, I would like to request the implementation of a dark mode for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Recently got worse and more annoying. I've been using this app to see the news every day but when I watch a video from a news article, it buffers a lot and doesn't continue playing. I have to refresh the page and play the video from the very beginning, then the same thing happens again. My internet is fast and I never had this issue before until just recently. Restarting the app and clearing the cache doesn't work either. Please fix this app before I switch to another news source.
