I notice that XUMM requires internet connection when creating a new account. Why is that? To me it looks suspicious. Update: the developer responds quickly with a good explanation, many thanks. Improvement idea: I think it would be better if new account creation was not blocking on no internet connection. Instructions to the user could start then with "connect to the internet to check the account status". Currently account creation just blocks on no internet and the user has to guess that that is because internet is not connected.

XUMM has been audited & doesn't need to be online for keypair generation, but it does need to be online to interact with the XRPL and see if the account is new or already active, so it can show users the right instructions. XUMM is also open source. -- Edit: good suggestion, added to our backlog! Thanks!

Although they removed the paywall fee structure, it was eye-opening how quickly they can change terms once you give them your trust. The new fee structure appears simpler than the old, but it's going to take a lot for me to trust them again. At least it got me to learn to use a hardware wallet for the first time, so for that I give them a couple extra stars.

Been using xaman wallet for a couple years now and Used to love it. But has The Ledger changed and new tools developed, the wallet and those who own it started charging fees to use it and came up with rules that prevented innovation and scared people as well. When Xaman does better, I'll change my review back to five stars, But right now I'm looking at other wallets.
