This app, whilst convenient to check balances, still lacks a lot of functionality expected with an app in 2019. No fingerprint unlock, transfers still require full bank account details, zero "extras" like split-bill etc. A very small step in the right direction. HSBC needs to step up the features for this to be any real use in today's world.

App is better than it used to be but, Malta's online and mobile banking is severely lacking, you can make bill payments from the app and the IBAN number system just makes it complicated, you can't view statements ,you have to log to the main web to add all your accounts so that they are visible on the app. You can't view your statements, block or unblock cards , view your pin ect.. this just some feedback to improve the system.

Just stopped working "for my safety" because it didn't like my desktop integration app, smartwatch, and my freaking keyboard! I am locked out of any online banking (including on desktop... as you now require the app). This app (and by extension, all hsbc online banking) only works on a stock android phone, if all you use it for is browsing youtube and instagram. These "security measures" are getting ridiculous.
