The official FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion app helps you keep in touch with your friends and prepare for adventure, anytime, anywhere! Access your in-game friend list, chat with fellow adventurers, make and share plans using the event list, manage your items, browse the market board, and assign retainer ventures!
Please note that an active service account and subscription for FINAL FANTASY XIV are required to use this app.
Please also note that some features such as chat can still be accessed for the first 30 days after your subscription for the main game has expired. You will lose access to all features after this period.

It's good! But it only works if you're not logged into the game. There's a premium subscription that give loads of perks, you don't need them but it is nice to have. It doesn't show how much you have spirit bonded with the equipment you have. - 🌟 You can talk to friends (who have bought a subscription, sorry free trialers). It'd be awesome if you could compare item to equipment currently equipped (but it currently doesn't) (+ 🌟?)

It works well, but the limited actions hold it back! It would have been great if you were more generous with that, and if it's absolutely necessary to have a subscription, I feel it should be cheaper, or throw an extra retainer in and MANY more actions per day, and remove the purchase of coins, that is far too greedy. Not being able to login at the same time while playing is also an issue, but not a huge deal.

As others have said, this app is lacklustre but has no reason to be. The paid version is essential to get meaningful use out of it but still there are so many basic things missing. For instance the armory items are not clearly marked as to whether they are in a current gear set or not. Easy to get rid of things accidentally. Also, why can't you favourite any items or sort by value etc? Just examples. Get on with it SE.

■The Cosmic Exploration Special Features have been added to the Home Screen menu.
You can view the exploration status of your character's Home World as well as receive notifications when there are changes in the progress.
This can be utilised by adding a menu through the editing screen on the Home Screen.
*Cosmic Exploration must be unlocked in-game.
