Animation Workshop is made for true drawing enthusiasts. People who love to see their sketches come to life.
Whether you're working on a quick loop, an experimental short, or a full-fledged animation project, this app gives you the tools to bring your ideas to the screen with the charm of classic 2D, powered by modern features.
To get the best performance on mobile devices, we recommend working on one sequence at a time and exporting it when finished, that way, your device stays light and ready for your next idea.
This is a tool for creating social media content, storyboarding, anime and manga drawings, animatics, and exploring animation techniques. It features professional support elements such as the Draft layer for reference lines and Onion Skin.
If the device supports it, you can draw strokes with variable thicknesses based on pressure. For example, using a Note smartphone with a stylus or a drawing tablet compatible with the Android device to which it is connected.
The goal of Animation Workshop is to help animators quickly experiment with different techniques, expressions, or character designs that can later be refined in their final projects.
You can create fully animated 2D clips using Animation Workshop. For longer animations, we recommend exporting each scene separately and combining them later in a video editing app.
For the best experience, we suggest installing Animation Workshop on devices with good RAM, internal storage, and graphics processing power. Limited hardware can affect performance and user experience.
Depending on your drawing style, using your finger on the screen might feel imprecise—but that can be easily improved with a capacitive stylus or a digital drawing tablet. We've had great results with Wacom devices, though not every model has been tested on every phone or tablet, so we recommend trying it out before purchasing extra gear. Another great option is using a Galaxy Note or any device that includes an S Pen.
If your drawing device supports pressure sensitivity, Animation Workshop can adjust the thickness of your strokes based on how much pressure you apply.
