About this game

Embark on a subterranean odyssey in Going Deeper! : Colony Sim, a challenging offline colony management game, set in a rich fantasy world. Delve into a six-layered world, from the surface to five distinct underground levels, each teeming with valuable resources and escalating dangers. Expand your colony, manage your resources, and defend against hostile goblin hordes in this immersive simulation experience.

Every unit in your colony is a unique individual with their own needs, skills, and quirks. Nurture their talents, equip them with meticulously crafted armor and weapons, and form specialized combat squads to repel goblin attacks. Will you prioritize skilled warriors, expert craftsmen, or a balanced approach? The survival of your colony rests on your decisions.

Tunnel deeper and deeper, unlocking access to richer resources but also exposing yourself to greater threats. Strategic planning is crucial: the resources you initially choose for your expedition will shape your entire campaign. Optimize your crafting and building processes to maximize efficiency and ensure your colony thrives.

Trade with a visiting merchant every two years for unique and valuable items you can't craft yourself. Choose wisely, as every trade-off could be crucial to your long-term survival.

Going Deeper! offers three distinct game modes to suit your playstyle:

* Campaign: Complete challenging missions and conquer the depths.
* Survival: Test your mettle and see how long you can survive against the odds.
* Sandbox: Customize your world and play with unlimited possibilities, tailoring the experience to your preferences.

Dive into the depths and build your ultimate underground empire!

For newbies out there learning to play this game, if you tried searching your way for tutorials but can't find any, I'll give a few tips. First when starting the game, don't change the first 2 items (anvil and bread) change the seeds depending on you but I chose potato seeds. Secondly, prioritize getting wood and stone then making a well and market. This 2 will be your lifeline in the game cuz you shouldn't get everything via crafting(tools) cuz it's a waste. Lastly, keep all your settlers sane.

I enjoy the survival simulation every now and then, but if there was a recent update in 2024. The lack of starting water barrel is a bummer. It's not an easy game, and I don't expect easy at all, but I did appreciate the water barrel option when selecting items your colony brought or could get at the beginning. Probably the only down side that used to be present. But besides that, there are questions on the event 'Party' that pops up for the colonists and how to stop them from going crazy?

Nice prototype for a mobile rimworld like game. Feels too linear now. There's some choices, but the biggest "procedural thing" forcing you to adapt is the placement of underground water for your pawns to drink. I've found most pawns will stop drinking at all though. Not sure what that's about yet. I have on multiple saves made a well and cups. Sometimes they drink from the bucket. Weird.
